WHAT YOU NEED TO KNOW

SALT LAKE COUNTY VOTERS

  • #1 Voting by mail
  • Ballots will arrive via mail the week of October 13th. Mark your ballot for Trent Staggs for Salt Lake County Mayor with blue or blank ink. When you have completed voting, place your ballot in your envelope, seal it, and sign the back.

    Mail your ballot back as soon as possible to make sure that it has enough time to be counted. You do not need to apply postage or a stamp to your envelope.

    We recommend that if you are within five days before election day (November 3rd, 2020) that you take your ballot to a secure drop box location to make sure that it arrives in time.

    If you have not received a ballot by Friday, October 16th, we recommend that you contact the Salt Lake County Clerk and request a ballot. You can reach the Salt Lake County Clerk at 385-468-7400.

  • #2 Placing your ballot in a secure drop box
  • If you do not want to mail your ballot back yourself you can place it in a secure drop box. Drop boxes are located around the county. Locations can be found here.

    The drop boxes are always open and are available 24/7, October 13th - November 3rd. They will be locked promptly at 8PM on Election Day, November 3rd, 2020.

  • #3 Early Voting
  • Beginning October 20th you can vote early and in-person at the County Government Building located at 2001 South State Street, South Building, First Floor, on weekdays 8:00 AM - 5 PM.

  • #4 Voting on Election Day
  • You can vote on election day at any of the 50 in-person voting centers located throughout the county. Voting center locations can be found here.

    In-person voting centers will be open from 7:00 AM - 8:00 PM on election day, Tuesday, November 3rd.

    You can also drop off your vote-by-mail ballot at any of the 50 in-person voting centers to make sure that it is securely delivered. You do not need to wait in line to drop off your vote-by-mail ballot.

  • Registering to Vote
  • To ensure that you are registered to vote you can register or update your voter information (such as address, etc.) at VOTE.UTAH.GOV

    The deadline to register to vote is October 23rd. If you are not registered hurry and register today so that you can cast your vote for Trent Staggs for Salt Lake County Mayor.

    While the deadline to register to vote is October 23rd, you can still register to vote on election day at an in-person voting center. Be sure to bring a valid means of identification. For a complete list of the ID requirements, CLICK HERE.

    If you do not receive a ballot or need a replacement

    If you did not receive a ballot or need to replace your ballot, you can visit one of the Vote Centers available on Election Day. Locations will be open from 7 AM - 8 PM on Election Day. For a complete list of the ID requirements, CLICK HERE.

    More information to make sure your ballot is counted correctly:

    To ensure that your ballot is counted, remember that you must:

    • Clearly mark your ballot choices with blue or black ink.
    • Sign your return ballot envelope.
    • You do not need to apply postage or a stamp to your envelope. Postage is free for your ballot.
    • You can track your ballot at the state elections website, VOTE.UTAH.GOV, to ensure that your ballot has been received.
